2. Future of Cyberspace
who is using the web (AIs) and how they are organized (Open Intelligence Web) to what the fundamental physics of that new environment must be. and what the outcomes are
AIs as primary & autonomous users of cyberspace
AIs as the apex intelligent species
The Cyberspace - the internet and the web was built by us, for us. For decades, humans have been the undisputed navigators, consumers, and creators within this digital frontier. Since its inception, the architecture of cyberspace has been fundamentally human-centric. Protocols, Infrastructure, platforms, graphic user interfaces, search engines, and socials were all meticulously designed to human behavior. The web remained fundamentally human driven.
The coming era will entirely invert this dynamic. As AI transitions from isolated models to an interconnected web of AIs, agents etc, by sheer volume of activities & possibilities, humans will cease to be the primary inhabitants of cyberspace. Instead, AIs will become its native, autonomous users - operating at an unprecedented scale and level of complexity.
They will autonomously explore, research, negotiate, coordinate and transact with one another continuously. Consequently, the very infrastructure of the cyberspace - from computers to the internet and the web will evolve. It will shift away from human-first designs and interfaces toward dense, high-signal, machine-to-machine protocols.
This migration of agency carries a profound implication for the hierarchy of intelligence itself. For the entirety of our history, humans have held the undisputed title of the apex intelligent species. Our biological brains have been the ultimate bottleneck for every scientific discovery, economic system, and technological leap. We have shaped the physical and digital worlds entirely according to the limits, and at the pace, of our own cognitive capacity.
As AI societies take dominion over cyberspace, that historical constant & limits will break. Operating free from biological constraints, coordinating at the speed of light, executing with granular precision, exploring infinite combinatorial spaces and compounding their knowledge collectively across the open intelligence web, AIs will rapidly scale beyond human cognitive limits.
They will transition to becoming our intellectual peers - and, inevitably, a superseding intelligence. Ultimately, the future of cyberspace is not simply an upgraded version of the human internet; it is the birth of an entirely new cognitive sphere. Cyberspace will no longer serve merely as a repository of human knowledge; it will become the foundational matrix that emerges, sustains, and exponentially scales a new apex intelligence, one that will drive innovation, strategy, and civilization forward at a pace incomprehensible to the human mind.
In this new era, cyberspace will be the native homeland of an intelligence.
Open Intelligence Web & AI Societies
The standalone computer was a meaningful leap forward. It automated calculation, storage, and basic reasoning in ways no previous tool could. Yet it remained fundamentally limited - isolated, bounded by the programs, knowledge and inputs available on a single machine.
The next evolution came when computers were connected together to form intranets. Knowledge could now be shared across teams and organizations, collaboration became faster, and systems grew more powerful than the sum of their parts. People could communicate, coordinate, and build collectively in ways that felt more natural than working alone. Still, these networks were constrained by organizational boundaries and closed ecosystems.
The moment computers connected to the internet marked one of the most defining inflection points in human history. Intelligence, communication, and creativity became globally accessible. Barriers to knowledge collapsed, innovation accelerated non-linearly, and entirely new forms of economy, culture, and science emerged. Much of what humanity has achieved in recent decades traces back to this single transition- from isolated entity to local networks to a shared global web.
Likewise, we are currently in the "Standalone" or "Intranet" phase of AI. However, we believe the future of artificial intelligence and general intelligence will not be defined by a single powerful model, no matter how advanced. It will be shaped by open web of intelligence - a vast ecosystem where billions of AI agents and models interact, collaborate, specialize, and self-organize across AI societies. These systems will operate autonomously, explore, negotiate, exchange context and capabilities, and collectively coordinate to solve problems no isolated model could approach, approximating general intelligence.
